Crosstown Mechanical

Crosstown Mechanical

description  Description:

Crosstown Mechanical, Inc. is a full service mechanical contractor specializing in commercial and industrial Refrigeration, Heating, and Air Conditioning service, design, and installation.

Crosstown Mechanical has also recently Broke into the State of the art Direct Exchange Geothermal heating and cooling market. We service most all applications of equipment in many markets from large Grocery Warehouses, Hospitals, and Nursing Homes to small convenience stores, and restaurants with a niche in the scientific industry.

Our technicians are highly skilled and have completed intensive training programs. We are fully licensed and insured. The parts, equipment, and tools we use are top of the line.

About Us

Crosstown Mechanical, Inc. was started in 1979 as Crosstown Refrigeration, Inc. The business started out repairing Ultra low temperature or "cascade" refrigeration systems and also small refrigeration systems in corner markets and restaurants. As time went on, word spread of our good service and low labor rates Crosstown acquired many local nursing homes and other larger accounts. In 2001 we decided to change the name to Crosstown Mechanical, Inc. to reflect our knowledge of H.V.A.C systems as well as mechanical refrigeration systems.

Today Crosstown Mechanical, Inc. has a mechanical service division specializing in commercial, industrial, and process refrigeration H.V.A.C. systems and a scientific division which is in the area service representative for Kendro, Harris, Sigma, Despatch and Forma Scientific ultra-low freezers as well as Nesslab lab chillers. Crosstown Mechanical, Inc. is a design build contractor. We have been selected by many to not only install an HVAC or refrigeration system but to design what meets the customer’s needs. We specialize in niche markets designing, building, and servicing all types of mechanical heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, humidification systems including a new technology called Direct Exchange Geothermal Heating and Cooling in many markets including small convenience stores, multi-tenant commercial buildings, and large refrigerated warehouses. We strive to do the job right the first time, use quality parts and equipment and keep labor rates low giving the customer the service and value they deserve.

Commercial & Industrial HVAC

We service, sell, and maintain a wide variety of Heating and Cooling equipment including; Package rooftop heating and cooling units, Mini split A/C and heat pump systems, Make up air units, exhaust fans and blowers, Air Handlers, Reciprocating fluid chillers, boilers, radiant tube heaters, and unit heaters.

Crosstown Mechanical, Inc. also provides installations of a mechanically simple and highly efficient means of harvesting renewable energy from the earth for space heating and cooling and water heating called “Direct Exchange Geothermal Heating and Cooling”. To achieve this a earth loop made from copper tubing is buried below the earths surface where the temperature remains a constant temperature. Refrigerant is circulated through this loop which is in direct contact with the earth. Heat is absorbed or given up to the earth depending on the season and transferred to either your home or buildings heating and cooling system or to a heat exchanger to heat water used for either domestic hot water or for radiant in floor heat.

This technology is 300 to 400 percent efficient meaning for every unit of energy used to operate the compressor “or pump” you gain 3 to 4 times the heat out due to the transfer process called “refrigeration effect.” Direct Exchange is even 20 to 25 percent more efficient over conventional geothermal systems which use many feet of poly pipe an additional pump and a water to refrigerant heat exchanger. Direct Exchange technology takes the fluid transfer pump, the need for a large outdoor water loop, and the inefficient transfer method out of the equation. There are installations and case studies much farther north than Minnesota in Canada with much success. Many report of saving 70 percent on energy consumption for heating and air conditioning.

Direct Exchange technology will be the standard in the future. With rising fuel costs and environmental impacts of burning fossil fuels this just makes sense period!

Commercial & Industrial Refrigeration
We service, install, and maintain a wide range of commercial refrigeration equipment including; Walk in coolers and freezers, display, open, and glass door coolers and freezers, Ice machines and refrigerated warehouses.

We also sell used commercial equipment.

Preventative Maintenance and Calibration

Crosstown Mechanical has Preventative Maintenance and Calibration programs for laboratory equipment and environmental chambers (almost all major brands). We can style a program that will fit your equipment needs and work with your schedules. Our program is able to meet the necessary compliance regulations and also be flexible enough to maintain your deadlines. We would be happy to work with you to lower your maintenance costs and reduce any down-time of your equipment.

Service Programs

Our technicians can offer service in the following ways:

Providing spare parts
Retrofits and Upgrades
Validation/Qualification of equipment
Regular Service
Emergency Service
Preventative Maintenance
Evaluations of Serviceability
Monitoring Systems

The term validation is the most misused and misunderstood term around. Validations need to follow FDA & AABB standards. The definition of equipment validation is broken down into three sections:

1. IQ – Installation Qualification. This is a very simple document that provides proof that the equipment was installed correctly and fully operational.
2. OQ – Operational Qualification. This document provides proof that the equipment is performing correctly and performance meets the material requirements. A 24 hour temperature map of an empty chamber is part of this document.
3. PQ – Product Qualification. This document provides proof that the equipment maintains the material within stated tolerance. A 24 hour temperature map of a loaded chamber is one part of this document. Also included is an open door study and power failure study.
We have performed validations for many QA/QC managers and are willing to provide any one of the above validation steps to assist in your validation as well.

Program Performance

Every service that we perform will be recorded, so that you will have copies of all work orders, equipment logs, testing reports, and any applicable data.

Emergency Service

Our technicians and service staff are available to respond to your needs on a 24-hour basis.
